About Addie's

Addie's Material Goods was founded February, 1998 by Corlienne Pennell. Located in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada, just 20 minutes west of Calgary. Addie's has become a popular destination quilt shop with visitors from Alberta, across Canada and around the world.

The selection at Addie's is really what sets it apart from similar stores. Fabrics, books, notions, classes and now yarn, are a reflection of the eclectic taste of Corlienne and her staff.

Corlienne has been sewing and knitting since she was a young child. Her love of sewing and the need for a creative challenge led her to quilting over 25 years ago. Her passion for textiles fuels her vision for Addie's. Her unique sense of style and detail provides an inviting setting for creative people.

In the Fall of 2005, Addie's Material Goods was included in the Better Homes and Garden's Quilt Sampler Magazine as of of their Top 10 Quilt Shops. The "Alberta Stars" quilt was designed by Corlienne Pennell for the magazine and has quickly become a favorite. Addie's will appear in Best of Quilt Sampler, March, 2007 Better Homes and Gardens Craft Collection publication. Alberta Stars will be featured on the cover. Alberta Stars quilt kits are available exclusively at Addie's.
